Hey everyone,

Found your site when I was having some trouble with my PC and some members of another forum I'm part of suggested I run combofix. A quick rundown of what happened:

I was running an AV that hadn't been updated in about a month. I made the mistake of running Safari for XP and all of a sudden I had the first random pop-up I've ever seen on this PC. Soon after, my audio went out completely. I ended up restarting the computer to see if that would fix things, but it wouldn't boot past "Verifying DMI Pool Data". I ended up using AVG's bootable rescue disc to do a scan for malware and it cleared up enough to get my computer to boot back into Windows. Once I was back in XP, I ran combofix and things seem to be ok.

I know it says not to run combofix unless I'm specifically told to, so I guess I kind of skipped that step. Though, I was told to do it by some guys on another forum that clearly knew more than I did about how to fix my computer. Now I'm wondering, should I post my log in here? Or not? I don't know what the protocol is.

Either way, glad to be here and thanks in advance for the help!

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at step 6.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Since you have run ComboFix, please include the ComboFix log in the new topic. Please be sure to include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to try to resolve them.

If you cannot produce any of the other logs, then please create the new topic anyway, include the information that you were unable to produce the other logs and why and include the ComboFix log along with a description of your computer issues.
