I have been i Spain for six months, and while there i was conected to the internet. I have come back to the U/K and can't connect to the internet with Internet Explorer, or Firefox.

I am staying with a friend and my laptop is showing i am connected by the little icons at the bottom right hand side, but Internet Explorer doesn't even come up and Fire Fox just says it has crashed. I have noticed that i haven't a lot of memory left and that the laptop is verry slow. Could that be a reason for it not connecting. thank you :

Error messages?

Did you set your connection up anew...when you changed countries/ISPs?

Take a look in Device Manager for indications of problems with hardware/drivers?

Take a look in Event Viewer for clues?

Anyone desiring Internet service...needs an ISP.

If you are using the ISP of a friend...i suggest that you ask her/him how to set up your computer so that you can utilize the services of said ISP.
