Is it possible to run BF2 off of a GeForce 5600 when the box says 5700?

Even though it isn't officially supported I've heard of people playing BF2 on a FX 5600, and you probably could too as long as it is a 128 MB version, and you have nothing against going through video options and toggling everything, or at least almost everything, to low.
