A quick question for all the resident genuises.My daughter has a Dell laptop with no OS disk.There is a recovery partition on D drive.
If she has to reinstall and can't boot up the machine,what is she suppose to do,Tony.

Hello and Welcome to Bleepingcomputer.

You said you have a recovery partition on drive D:

The object is to look for a possible floppy disk from the maker of the laptop.

The disk is a bootable disk that was written by Dell to fetch the recovery files from the said partition D:.

If you lost this disk, I might be able to find a free download for you that replaces this disk.

Please post back the laptop model number.

If she does not have such a recovery disk just let me know, sometimes those are downloadable from the vendors web site.

Ok Mr.Bruce,she says she got quite a few disks when she bought the laptop last year.I guess I am all set so when she locates them
