I've been fighting Malware infections since mid-july. With the help of your topics, I was able to remove what got past my Webroot program with Malwarebytes and the safemode on my computer. I know enough to be dangerous with the pc, but I'm not a professional computer tech. Just dabble in it and maintain my home pc.

I recently found a funny folder on my E drive partition, it was a bunch of numbers and letters like the malware programs create. I looked inside and there were two files:

mrte.exe._p
and
mrtstub

the latter is an application.

I didn't click on either, but I was hoping someone would be able to tell me if these are malware or not and if I should delete this directory.

Please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Michael
