Hi,
I hope this is the correct forum and if not I apologize. I've spent two days working to clean up some nasty stuff on my pc with the Maleware removal people and I'm clean. I woke up this morning and I keep getting a message that I've installed new hardware but I haven't. The box says this is system volume copy. Is this something on the up and up? I might be a little paranoid but I've never had this happen before.
Thanks,
georgia

Post the contents of the error message or message...exactly as it appears onscreen, please.

Louis

Hi,
This is an Asus but I don't know the model. This belonged to one of my sons for a few months before he went back to his Mac and he's gone for the week end to get settled for school.
Last night I was trying to send an email. And it wouldn't send. The pc shut down and then restarted. I thought it was windows update but there were no prompts as I'd usually see. Right afterwards, the Install New Hardware Wizard message popped up but I closed it. Then a bubble from the task bar popped up telling me I'd installed new hardware and there might be a problem in installation, I have had this happen several times today. I opened the Wizard to see if it listed what hardware I'd supposedly installed and it says Shadow Volume Copy. It asked me what program I wanted to use to open and I canceled out.
Thanks Louis, I hope this helps.
