Yup - I got that stupid Internet Security 2010 and fakealert trojan  . I read a bunch of forums and did what a lot of them said to do. Install Mailwarebytes and removed viruses and trojans, then I ran combofix and followed that to the T. After all that I thought I was home free, but then I noticed some of my google searches being redirected to some bogus sites. I found the fix for this and reset my local DNS (at least I think it was called that) and reset it back to the default. But something is still wierd on my machine, I can just feel it. So I tried to run GMER to see if it found any hidden rootkits and for some reason my machine crashes and restarts on its own during the GMER scan. I donwloaded a couple other rootkit detectors and the one from Macafee found a few hidden registry keys. Im new to this rootkit stuff so I had no idea what I was looking at. Can someone help me?

Im running Windows XP pro, SP3 on a Dell XPS 720. The strange behavior is that my machine starts to slow down after use and seems to leaking memory (at least that what if feels like). Let me know what type of log you would like me to post. Thanks

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at step 6.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Since you have run ComboFix, please include the ComboFix log in the new topic. Please be sure to include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to try to resolve them.

If you cannot produce any of the other logs, then please create the new topic anyway, include the information that you were unable to produce the other logs and why and include the ComboFix log along with a description of your computer issues.
