Hi I meant to ask you if this Computer is Windows X{P?
Do you know how to run Windows Updates?

What version of JAVA is running?
Go into Control Panel>Add Remove Programs. Be sure the 'Show Updates' box is checked. Go down the list and tell me what Java applications are installed and their version. (Highlight the program to see this).

Look in Control Panell Add/remove Programs.
What AntiVirus program is running?

Do you see programs like MalwareBytes,SUPERAntispyware,SpywareBlaster.

OK, I am going slow here. Mark may not have any Java installed as it can be a security risk and why I asked to look. Any starbucks on here LOL..

Some of thse items you mentioned will need updates. But first we will run some of the tools I asked you about. This way you will know how to use them. You should update these and then scan once a week. I want you to scan with these next so we now you are clean and then we can safely update the others.

AVG 9 Free ....I am asking someone about this as I do not use it.
Go here here and download the updates or right click the AVG icon in the sys tray and select update. I an still looking for the autoupdate "button."

Here is their FAQ link Item 2421

MBAM (MalwareBytes)
Update: Open MBAM in normal mode and click Update tab, select Check for Updates

Running:click Scanner tab, select Quick scan and scan (normal mode).
After scan click Remove Selected, Post new scan log and Reboot into normal mode.

The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.

SUPERAntiSpyware free
Update: Doulble click desktop icon. 2 boxes may pop up ,close the smaller. On the SAS Main Menu box select the update button. When done close the update box.

Running: From the same SAS Main Menu box select Scan Your Computer
To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log.
A text file will open in your default text editor.
Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
Click Close to exit the program.

SpywareBlaster
This application will always be running in the background so we only need to update it.
Update: Doulble click desktop icon.
At bottom ,click Download Latest Updates
Click button,Check for Updates
When the update completes, Click the line 9in Blue)that says Enable Protection for all unprotected

So do that lets be sure you are clean and we'll do Windows updates.

OK these are good.
Now Start→All Programs→Windows Update.
Click the Scan for Updates link.
Click the Review and Install Updates link.
Use the scrollbar to review the updates, clicking the Remove button for any that you donít want to install. For now install all critical / security updates.
Click Install Now.
