I am finding the nvidia fan controls suck badly even with the current drivers. Now I am using custom fan profiles from direction from this video ,but sadly after a few hours my fans will magically go back to 30% even though rivatuner is active. I am confused in what is happening since rivatuner is on but seems to do nothing at all while my gpu temps skyrocket.

It might help if you provide the model of this board.

If you are trying to reduce the RPMs of the fan this will produce overheating issues. I suspect that if the RPMs are automatically increasing the board is trying to keep itself alive.

Just out of curiosity, why are you trying to control the fan speed?
