Windows XP SP3 - Acer Computer 2.GB ram

When trying to open multiple image files in windows explorer, the computer hangs and the only way to get it back to normal is to close the app in the task manager.

This is followed by windows atempt to send error files to microsoft.

If it tried opening three files at the same time, I get three errors.
When opening one image file.........no problem.

Have tried using a variety of imaging programs and it hangs on ALL.

If I try opening multiple files within the programs, there is no problem.

Would appreciate any feedback you can provide.
