hey,
thanks for getting back to me so soon. The white text says:

Please select the operating system to start:
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Restore Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

At first i tried the first option but it just brings me back to that same screen so have to press the Restore one , but it seems to just keep coming up everytime i restart/reboot and when i turn it off.

Does the restore one work fine? And the issue is just that its there and that theother option does not work? Did you reinstall XP recently?

If you choose the normal windows startup option and press F8 you should have the ability to make a bootlog.txt . That will create a log of the boot process. Then from the working installing boot up and see if you can find bootlog.txt or ntbootlog.txt and see what the last few entries are.
