Today I followed the Bleeping Computer Guidelines, including downloading Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to get AntivirusGT off my computer.

I followed all the steps which found 3 threats on the computer and deleted them. After completing the final step and restarting my computer I found that the AntivirusGT icon was still in my start menu. However when I ran a virus scan on it using my computer antivirus it identified it as a shortcut to nothing. I then deleted 2 shortcuts to AntivirusGT in my start menu.

The computer is now running without the interuption of AntivirusGT messages every few minutes.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can I assume that the malware is now gone? Thanks.
