I am helping a friend with getting her computer set so that it will connect to the internet again. I think it might be a virus and I would like some input on the steps for identifying if it is a virus and how to remove it. I would also like some feedback from her HijackThis log. The only visible problem is that she is no longer able to connect to the internet. This started when she turned on the computer and she said that during the startup process the screen was black and a lot of numbers/words scrolled quickly across the screen which was not normal. She was able to log on to her account but when she started internet explorer it was not able to connect to the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached her HiJackThis file.
