The power went out at our house. Now I can't connect to the internet. I have windows vista, I can open control panel and I have restored my system but when I try to connect to the internet, nothing. I opened my computer in safe mode and it tells me the computer loss power and my passwords don't match up to get online. I went threw all the steps to reset passwords but at the last page to hit continue, I can't even click continue. Does any one know how to fix this???

Hello bellcrew, sorry about the trouble your experiencing I'll try my best to help you out! First I have a few questions if you don't mind.

1. How is your computer connected? (Wired, WiFi)
2. Is the connection your own or are you using a public source? (University, Coffee Shop, etc)
3. Are you able to login to Windoes Vista as administrator?

Thanks.

Thank you Miles for responding, I am at my house and I am connected to att dsl. I am not sure about logging in under administrator. I can click start and all that but I can't run any of my anti virus programs or connect to the internet. I believe I am under administrator, because I am the only one who acesses the computer.

Are you connected wireless or using a physical cable plugged into the back of your computer?

Do you have a modem/router for the internet connection (guessing you do) ?
If so, is it connected directly to the mains or a UPS?
