Let me introduce myself as a 'newbie'. and begin by saying I can build a computer better than I can run one. Which is, of course, is what brought me here in the first place;so I can learn more about operating a pc. I am a novice at all of this, so would appreciate all of the help that I get, thank you for the chance to learn.

A good place to begin the learning process, which seems never to end when you are talking about computing, is in the Tutorials here at BC, most of which are designed with the less experienced user in mind. Of course, just browsing through some of the forums and following threads can also provide useful information of a more particular nature.
No doubt, you will have questions, and these you may post in the most appropriate forum so that members who have experience or expertise in those areas may respond.
Welcome to BC!!
Regards,
John
