Bingo!!! This morning it pops up with the warning-You're infected buy this or else you'll get sick and cause the death of thousands of puppies in a second world country!!! (emphasis mine). But this time I don't get a fake Google redirect (from what I can tell) and my Symantec endpoint is malfunctioning and my internet connection icon (bottom right) went missing. I got a notification of new programs installed, of course it "Security tool" but no presence of it in add/remove software.

So now running in safe mode with networking and ran a hijack-this scan....and poof! here I am.

Suggestions? Anyone?
