Ok, here goes, couple days ago after running a virus scan, it found a couple of uglies that it said it tossed in virus vault ( I'm running free version of avg). Since then I've gotten couple of pop ups that caught my eye so i googled em to see whats up. Something about windows defender, not exactly sure what. Anyway problem is, I went to update windows defenderand got a pop up saying "error found code 0x80072efe". I can't update windows defender. Next I tried windows update, I can't even get to windows update homepage, it keeps saying "internet explorer cannot display the webpage". Be gentle with me....I'm not exactly computer savy but I can follow simple instructions if anyone's got any ideas. I know you guys have saved my butt more than once, I'm hopin someone here can do it again. I have already installed a fresh copy of malewarebytes antimalware and run a scan. And Im running windows xp home for an OS.

Here is the log of the maleware scan...Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46
