Greetings. Recently I got one of those fake "virus scanner" viruses that won't allow you to open any programs because it blocks with a warning about it being a virus. I fixed that no problem. But soon after I noticed almost every time I click a link in a google search result it redirects me to a site completely different of that whats was the search link. And I also get random pop-up tabs from time to time.

I have tried Malware Bytes, AVG, CCleaner, and Ad-Aware. Nothing seems to work. I use FireFox primarily, but even IE has this problem. I have tried re-installing both to no avail.

Can someone please help me. It doesn't seem like a dangerous virus/adware. But it is annoying.

Thanks so much. I'm not sure if this is how you go about getting help on these forums, so if I have done something wrong just let me know and I will correct whatever is needed. Thanks again.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
