hello all,

I'm new here and i'm sure I can find help here. I'm trying to run sfc on vista and get a message stating I need to be administrator. I have only one login on my laptop and according to the user account info I'm the admin. What can I do? I'm trying to get rid of browser hijacks and general system clean up. Also any good and free browser hijack apps out there thats works well with vista?

Thanks
Glenn

Go Start>"Start Search" type in:
sfc /scannow
Hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter.
The above action will allow you to run "sfc" as administrator.

Broni,

Thanks but I just tried it and nothing happened, no response. I tried it from the run menu and cmd prompt. Response from hitting enter is " You must me an admin running a console session in order ti use the sfc utility"

Yes.
Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder. You'll see CBS.log file.

Copy the file to some other location, like your desktop and it'll open from there.
