I have been directed to run Combofix at the direction of my site network administrator, but when I try it says I have Norton Internet Security running. I uninstalled Norton some time ago and can find no trace of it on my machine. Also when I try to go ahead and run Combofix anyway, it says I cannot rename Combofix as Combofix[1]. Is there something else I can run to make sure Norton is really dead?

I am running Windows XP SP3
I have run all the standard antivirus/antispy ware stuff: MalwareBytes, Spybot, SuperAntispyware
but still can't get rid of Norton and run Combofix.

Never run Combofix unsupervised.

With the information you have provided I believe you will need help from the malware removal team. I would like you to start a new thread and post a DDS log HERE and include a link to this thread. Please make sure that you read the information about getting started before you start your thread.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient. Help is on the way!
