I would run spybot SandD , back up the registry with the program, and then delete. You can restore from the program if there is a problem. Let me know. Spybot is available at: www.majorgeeks.com. What adware program are you using?

If you went to the time to download, install, and update Ad-AwareSE, I don't understand why you are not using it. The application will quarantine anything you elect to get rid of, and you can always go back and restore selected files.
If you are worried, then quarantine each tab separately so you can more easily find and restore anything you need.

John
