my brother's pc wont start up. after the windows screen it just goes black. i started it up and hit f3 or something and it said something like this; windows could not be started because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. could not read from the selected boot disk. check boot path and disk hardware. blah blah blah

System manufacturer and model?

Did you follow any of the suggestions in the "blah blah blah" section of the error message?

FWIW: The CPU is not the same as the hardware disk. A problem with one has no direct impact on the other. The disk is where all the files are, the CPU is the system engine.
