Hello, I'm not sure where this question belongs so I'll post it here. Last night I was using windows messenger live fine, however this morning it does not seem to want to open. Whenever I try to open it it says:

"Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Also, I've tried to do a system restore but nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Did you turn off your computer after using it last night?
Installed something recently?

Don't understand how it would stop working overnight. :S

I did install rainmeter and rocketdock but I was using messenger as I was using these programs last night. I did however try to open messenger when these programs were exited but still no luck. Do you think I should try uninstalling these programs?

edit: And yes I did turn off my computer.

If the System Restore didn't help, I doubt the uninstallation of the programs will have any effect.

Worth a try though.

Did the uninstalling, and still didn't work. So then I tried creating a new user account on my computer and then downloaded messenger live there, and voila! It worked! Thanks for your help though.
