The vendor has downgrade my os from original Vista Basic to XP. Since I'm the beginner, I do not know much until afterwards the XP Os is a third party software. How do I get a copy of Vista basic and is there any charges for the software. For information my notebook is suppose to use the original vista basic. I need help here.

Do not know who your vendor is, but I would contact them first.

Or else you will need to purchase a legitimate copy of Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 to reinstall on your notebook.
