Last night the computer was working without trouble. There was a power out overnight while the computer was running. This morning upon startup the Gateway screen is shown with options to enter the boot menu or bios settings, then the screen goes black, then it returns to the Gateway screen. At that point nothing can be done. The pc is frozen. Pressing F10 does nothing. I have hard booted from this screen several times. Since the computer does not even load windows vista pressing F8 to try to enter safe mode does nothing.

What can I do from here? Is this a virus? How can I tell?
