I would like to have a scanner at home that I could scan documents to PDF format. Does the PDF software come with most scanners or do you have to buy it separately?

Depending on which scanner you buy, the productivity software included with the scanner usually includes something to make your scanned documents into PDF. Just be sure to check before you buy it to make sure.
I like to think I know a bit about computers, I apologize if my advice is not sound or clear. I try my best to give good answers.
