My name is Anthony.
I have limited experience with computers.
I found this board while trying to search for a way to remove a popup for WinFixer.
I have installed/run McAfee.
" " " " " lavasoft adware remover.
' ' " " " spybot s/d.
None have helped me.
I have learned that the file has probably attached itself to my operating system.
I am about to use Highjack This but was scared because of the warnings about being knowledgeable about computers.
So I will now post in the appropriate place (if I can find it )
Thanks in advance!!!
Anthony

Do not be afraid to post a HJT log here. Our volunteer staff is very knowledgeable and experienced in analysing the log and helping you to safely get rid of any malware it finds.

Please carefully read the following before posting the log:

Welcome to BC!

I appreciate the help and your reply in my other post.
I am not afraid of posting my results, its just that the directions concerning running Highjack This warn non-savy computer users to be very cautious and take all other steps (such as adware programs) first.
I guess I'll run Highjack This and post the log where appropriate.
Thanks again!
Any other info also appreciated!
Anthony

Just a FYI. It is not necessary to use the "quote reply" reply bar in responding to a post immediately above. Use the Reply boxes at the BOTTOM of the screen.
Fast Reply will just bring up a text box, Add Reply will bring up a formatting screen as well as the text box.

I think the warning about HJT is not about running it, but about making changes to your system with it unless you are very confident about what you are doing.
Cheers,
John

 to BC! Anthony.
Yes posting a HJT log will most likely help you.

Good Luck,
yano
