Laptop is pretty slow when multitasking but I have 1.25 gb of RAM installed... do i have any unncessary programs running? My PF usage is around 235mb but there is still lag. Look at this pic (high system cache and commit charge): http://tinypic.com/eufz11.jpg

I would disable ares so it does not start up immediately. If you are sharing stuff, ares will consume a lot of resources as people connect.
