Seven days ago my incoming gmail message stopped being relayed to outlook express by POP - I was away at the time & not using the computer.

Yesterday I tried all sorts of things to get it going again but no joy. I get the following message when signing in in outlook express to receive messages:

The server you are connected to to is using a security certificate that could not be verified.

A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.

Do you want to continue using this server?

Yes No

My anti virus seems to be working OK.

Since trying to re-set things my inbox in outlook express has totally emptied and will not receive anything if I send myself an email from another computer
