My computer froze yesterday and I was forced to turn off the power and restart it. Upon the restart, I was unable to boot windows. I inserted my OS disk and ran the repair dut it did not work. It said "the registry cannot load the hive file". I also tried to restore it to a previous date but it said it could not do it. Please help me.

Well I would say that if the repair has failed and a restore has failed as well, then I would reinstall windows. See here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows...g-Windows-Vista
