Hi there, I'm not even sure I'm asking for help in the rite section or even the rite site, so sorry for wasting your time if this is the case.
I'm running winxp home edition, sp3.
My printer is a canon pixma mp600 and is printing fine but when I tried to scan in a document the other day it tells me to connect scanner to pc. I've had a look around and think it might be a problem with the usb connection? but cant understand why the printer would print but not scan if this is the case.
I'm an absolute beginner so sorry for lack of detail.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

It was the usb port that my printer is plugged into, just unplugged and plugged into my usb hub and seems to working fine now, does that mean that the port it was plugged into is now unusable? or fixable do u think? Sorry for being thick

You could uninstall the USB controllers (in Device Manager0...then reboot...and see if that has any impact on the port.

The drivers should reinstall automatically upon reboot.
