Bleepingcomputer,
This concerns a Dell Dimension 3000 desktop running XP Pro SP3.
The problem is the internet connection is worse than snail slow. After starting a browser, the
homepage (google) will start to load, but it takes up to 5 minutes for the page to load, and ususally
the page will not load completely. Also, attempting to update other software is useless.

This pc came to me from a friend loaded with malware, trogans, adware, etc. The pc is clean (free of
dirt, dust). The cache was removed, the host file checks good, I've run Winsockxpfix, run ping checks
that verified ok. BHO's checked - only running 4 - all internet explorer.

NOTE:
I understand running some of the following progs is contrary to your advise, but I didn't discover
your website until after I'd run them and couldn't solve the problem myself and went looking for
advise elsewhere.

I have run antimalware/antivirus software to remove the infections - Combofix, malwarebytes,
hitmanPro, Avast, and HijackThis. I haven't run DDS or GMER. It wasn't until I believed I had gotten
everything cleaned up that I discovered the slow internet connection hadn't been repaired. My search
to solve that problem led me to your website. Can you advise me on how to proceed?
Thank you,
Slade

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at step 6.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Since you have run ComboFix, please include the ComboFix log in the new topic. Please be sure to include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to try to resolve them.

If you cannot produce any of the other logs, then please create the new topic anyway, include the information that you were unable to produce the other logs and why and include the ComboFix log along with a description of your computer issues.
