i am using windows server 2003 at my workplace, and sure there must have the network place for us to share the file or folder. The problem is that other user ( my colleague) are not able to open the shared file from their computer, even the user name and password had been key in. Does this cause by any sharing and security issue?

Are the computers running XP Pro?

Is the Server 2003 software setup to control the domain?

Are users able to see the shared folder?

If so what message comes up when they are denied access?

Yes they all using XP pro. And try to set to control the domain. Other user are able to see the shared folder, but once they click on it, it will ask you to key in the user name and password. Then it will prompt out message box like "the computer is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource."
