I can't really say it will not open any file... what I mean is that the association of exe files seems to be messed up. Some not all exe files like trial games I may download on the internet will not install. When pushed it opens on word pad.
I have checked the regedit and exe file is at "%1" %* yet it continues to happen. Also... I have an HP Compaq with WindowsXP SP3 that came pre-installed on this refurbished 2 year old machine. I can't remember having any serious problem but I can't go into safe mode by F8 either. I do have an reinstallation disc but I would rather not ... Can someone advise me as to what is the best course of action for both these situations? Thank you...
