Hello all,

I have been trying to get this virus off my computer for a while now, but I cannot seem to get rid of it. My Norton Anti-virus auto-protect frequently catches Backdoor.Tidserv!inf and takes partial action on it. The file name is A0098507.sys and the location is C:\System Volume Information\_restore{202550A8-7A33-4BCA-9586-051D24DDBF8F}\RP1115\

I have tried running updated Malwarebytes both in normal and safe mode, running Norton in normal and safe mode, and also found the system volume information folder in the C drive but if I click on it or try to delete it, it says access denied.

I think Norton's partial action is preventing it from doing anything to my computer, I have not had problems.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome,

Looks like you've a bad rootkit aboard. Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
