Any feedback or recommendations would be greatly appreciated...
I'm also considering a laptop...would there be a massive difference in power for the same money? (450-650 pounds)

Or I could get one built at PC Specialist.co.uk
The only problem would be the time it takes
This system costs £595 inc VAT and Delivery.
Please - I need some informed advice asap!!!
Which would you go for any why?
Pro's and Cons of the various options would also be helpful if poss
Thanks
Chris

The last one is definitely the best. A quad core is very good for this task. You should get a better video card though if possible. I would recommend a 5770 but I see you're on a tight budget. Get at least a 5670. It needs at least a 400W power supply; probably more since you will have a quad core.

Is this better???

Will there be much difference between 5670, 5750 or 5770 graphics card?

Any other suggestions would also be useful

Thanks
Chris

A 5750 is still probably more than enough for your needs. From what I've heard, video editing is more dependent on the CPU than the GPU although the GPU is still important. A 5670 might be enough for you.
Here is a comparison of the 5670, 5750, and 5770 cards.
The second list you posted may not work because it has only a 350W power supply. That won't be enough to power both a quad core processor and a decent video card. The second list is better, but change the PSU to at least 450W.

FWIW: I find that video editing is easily done on just about any system that is more recent than a P4.

What's important...are the requirements of the software used to edit, as well as simple things like adequate hard drive space and defragging of same prior to use.

The program used to edit...will indicate the major considerations for best performance.

Any program used for such...will also have a user forum that you might want to frequent and a FAQ available at the website.

Thanks for the help.
If I went for 5770 card would 450w PSU still be adequate?
Thanks
Chris
