I joined the forum yesterday after discovering bleeping computer and as a consequence spent a lot of time reading the wide range of advice for detecting and deleting malware/viruses.

What are the thoughts generally on practising detection and deletion on an infected virtual machine?
Do the techniques discussed in these forums work with the same results on VMs?
What's the risk to the host machine?

Just a few of the many questions that this site has provoked!!

Any thoughts and discussions would be welcome.
