As the resident family computer expert, I have the "privilege" of maintaining one Windows XP Pro desktop computer (mine), four Windows XP Home desktops, plus three Windows 7 laptops.

When the Windows 7 laptops need to be maintained (mostly to be disinfected), I can simply and easily bring them into my home office to physically work on them.

However, working on the Windows XP Home desktops is not so easy, as I have to physically sit in my kid's bedrooms or go visit my sister-in-law's retirement home to take care of them.

Is there some simple, easy to use (and hopefully free) software that will allow me to remotely access their Windows XP Home desktops so I can work on them from the convenience of my home office using my Windows XP Pro machine?

First of all, I am not an expert but I am an IS Support Tech. We have a couple of models that will not capture and be remotely controlled in Novell ConsoleOne. Our corporate office told us to use this site to remote those PCs....

I've since used it at home to remote my wife's laptop to address some of her issues and the fact she panics whenever she thinks I am about to touch the screen or leave finger prints on her machine.

Hope this helps... let me know what you think....
