Firstly, THANK YOU for taking the time to review and address this issue. I've recently started having problems with Google Chrome not wanting to open any web pages, so I defaulted to IE only to realize that every Google search I conducted was being redirected to some other type of "search" site. Furthermore, that the only time that it even did that at all was when I was running active protection from MalwareBytes... otherwise, it simply would return an "error loading page" tab. Also, Windows Update was not connecting to its server either. Suspecting an infection of a sort, I disconnected from the net and ran scans with MalwareBytes; the resulting hits were fixed, but not the original issue. I was using Immunet Protect as my AV (since I have a netbook), but its results showed no hits on malware or other. I unistalled Chrome and Immunet, and installed AVAST FREE; however, both attempts at running Avast's full system scan resulted in a BlueScreen and unexpected shutdown of Windows 7. I installed SpyBot SD and ran scans that resulted in several more hits than MalwareBytes (which was now showing a "clean" system), cleared those and immunized. Following -up on that, I ran TDSSKiller which reflected, and corrected, only one file infection.... yet, still the problem persisted. I added UnHackMe to the mix, but its scans also showed "No Infection". Getting a bit desperate, I ran several of Symantec's worm and rootkit scans as well as TrendMicros', but they all show a clean system! Seeing as to how IE functions as long as I'm running MalwareBytes to stop the redirects, I tried a new install FireFox but it wont load any pages either. Aside from the corrected scan results, I've not deleted or otherwise modified any registry settings, or results from HijackThis scans. I've included a copy of the requested DDS scan (w/attachment textfile), and the scan result for HijackThis; I attempted to run several GMER scans, but as with AVAST, every scan attempt resulted in a bluescreen w/shutdown. What can I do next? I've not attempted a System Recovery in fear that it would only result in a complication of the issue. Please help... I'm about to chuck this netbook outta' my patrol vehicle and shoot it! lol.

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

Somethings to remember while we are working together.
  1. Do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
  2. Please Do not Attach logs or put in code boxes.
  3. Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  4. Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
  5. Do not run anything while running a fix.

In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Options. If you click on this in the drop-down menu you can choose Track this topic. By doing this and then choosing Immediate E-Mail notification and then clicking on Proceed you will be advised when we respond to your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

In order for me to see the status of the infection I will need a new set of logs to start with.

Please print out or make a copy in notpad of any instructions given, as sometimes it is necessary to go offline and you will lose access to them.

DeFogger:
Please download DeFogger to your desktop.

Double click DeFogger to run the tool.
    • The application window will appear
    • Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers
    • Click Yes to continue
    • A 'Finished!' message will appear
    • Click OK
    • DeFogger may ask you to reboot the machine, if it does - click OK
