I've just updated my parents machine from Windows Vista to Windows 7. They are running a Sony Vaio, model VGC-LS20E. This model computer has a built in card reader, however this card reader is not functioning with the new install. I thought I'd just need to get some drivers, but after about an hour or so of searching, I haven't been able to find any.

Maybe someone out there knows off hand where I can get some drivers? Or something else entirely that I could try to get this card reader to work?

Thanks so much!

You can try using Windows Vista drivers.

What prompted the upgrade to Windows 7?

Mainly, the computer was due for a reinstall. It was ridiculously slow and bogged down. They asked me to fix it, and I thought it would just be easier to reinstall than messing with registry cleaners, spyware cleaners, virus scanners, etc. I went to 7 because both my parents and I have never been a fan of vista, yet I've heard good things about 7. I personally haven't played with 7 enough to know if I actually like it yet or not though. Besides the card reader issue, I'm a fan so far!

I believe I did try the vista drivers, and all I got was an error on the install.
