Hello,

I got some malware, but after lots of scans (AVG, Kaspersky WEB, Spybot, SuperantiSpyware, etc), the PC seems clean.
But for some reason my Bluetooth is damaged (I can pair with the phone but services, COM ports don't show anything) and I can't use Nokia PC suite.

So I decided to backup my C partition and do a repair of Win XP (SP3). It just happens that the process stops at some 50%.
I've tried more than once.

Thanks for your help!

Windows repair won't always work, depending on what real issues are.
Since you backed up your data, clean installations may be your best option.

Thanks, Broni

But to reconfigure the PC again is always a pain...

Woldn't there be some way to do a repair?
(the situation is not SNAFU - the only real problem I'm having concerns Bluetooth & Nokia PC suite that don't work anymore)

There's no message - it just freezes during driver install.

Before that it complains from the IDT sound driver (not signed) and the AVG miniport (I forgot about what).

I tried clicking on not install them but it didn't help.

Thanks,

Check the hard drive with hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic?

Try to run chkdsk /r command?

When XP complains about drivers not being signed...I've not found that to be an obstacle, just a routine thing XP is programmed to do.

chkdsk /r was ok, no repair was made.

Just after that I had to use the printer (Epson, USB) and found out that it wasn't working also.

So I disabled restore points amd tried again. This time repair went through ??? and the printer is working.

But not the Nokia PC Suite, even with a cable connection to the phone...

Thanks for your help, take care,
