Hello,
My neighbor, has a problem with his home network, he has a Netgear DG834G hub and has his desktop running XP connected by network cable, he also has a laptop running Vista connected by wireless connection. The problem is: he can use the desktop, everything is fine, but to get his laptop to connect he has to disconnect the desktop, he cannot get them both working at the same time. Any ideas why?

The DG834G is an ADSL wireless modem router.

Its sounds to me like the ADSL modem is setup to bridge the connection and not use NAT.

Please have your neighbor contact Netgear support to disable the bridge and enable the NAT so that he can share the network.
