Gringo:

I finished running Malwareabytes, it found 3 infections, I clicked fix.

Then I ran DeFogger, then I ran DDS, saved files, Then I ran RKUNHOOKERLE > got parasite error, clicked cancel > program integrity damaged > error loading/opening driver (Module Advapi32.dll). then tried to run clicked ok same result.

For some reason, I turned off computer and when trying to reboot, the Compaq screen came up, then a cursor. Windows will not boot.

Help!!!!!!!

Greetings

these programs are only scanners and don't do any fixing so I am not sure what caused this but lets try to get to safe mode

Boot into Safe Mode

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.

let me know

Greetings

In the safe boot menu there is last known good configuration try that,

apart from this I have nothing to go on, there is no logs for me to check and see what files it may be - I have no place to start.

What type of computer is it?

do you have the install disks for it?

Gringo:

Whew!!!!!!!!! Just figured out the boot issue. I was able to get into setup and noticed usb port priority for boot up. I had memory stick in usb port so I removed it and the computer booted, so it appears we can proceed.

Hello

I Would like you to do the following.

Please print out or make a copy in notpad of any instructions given, as sometimes it is necessary to go offline and you will lose access to them.

Run Combofix:
Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode.
This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:
The Recovery Console was successfully installed.
    Please continue as follows:
    • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
    • Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the report in your next post:

    C:\ComboFix.txt

"information and logs"
In your next post I need the following
    1. Log from Combofix
    2. let me know of any problems you may have had
    3. How is the computer doing now?

Gringo
