Print out these instructions and then close all windows including Internet Explorer.

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

Then I want you to fix some of those entries. Please do the following:

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then click the Fix button:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/.../search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
O4 - Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\{00000409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}\misc.exe

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\{00000409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}\misc.exe

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode and post a new log. Also tell me if your problem is gone.

For some reason, my computer won't boot into safe mode, not matter how many times I try.

It starts to boot into safe mode, but then goes to a command prompt that says all of the input commands are bad or unrecognized; is there any other way to doit?
