Plus I keep getting redirected to sites like lowerprice$hopper.com.

Xp Home, all windows update done, avast anti virus software. Let me know if there is need for other info.

Spybot give me: error retrieving update info file

when I try to run the update software it doesn't run at all, same with malwarebytes.

Hmm, I put that on my original post. I'm running XP media center edition version 2002 service pack 3.

I'm typing this on my PS3 as things just got worst. So I disable the internet and am leaving off for now.

Avast pop out saying it found a trojan, name;

win32:jifas-GB [Trj]

I deleted and the exact same message appeared, I moved to chest or whatever is called, but the message keep popping uo until a yellow triangle appeared saying my computer was in serious risk.

After that a screen pop up saying my avast was a fake and clik ok to remove, I close the box which I guess was like clicking ok as it begin to try to auto uninstall my avast, was like the computer was alive. I close and cancel the auto process, then the triangle message changed, and a shield similar to windows firewall, green with a check mark appeard, and so did a bunch of icons on my desktop. The green shield says "Defense Center".

My computer is a total mess right now, this will be a thoughtl clean up.

Sorry I missed that for some reason.

Try downloading and using the SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner in Safe Mode. Save the randomly named file (i.e. SAS_1710895.COM) to a usb drive or CD and transfer to the infected computer. Then double-click on it to launch and scan. The file is randomly named to help keep malware from blocking the scanner.

It toke forever to start in safe mode it hang on Mup.sys for a good 20 minutes.

I try to install but it says I must unistall the other version I have and it cannot be unistall in safe mode. If I click ok I get the option to install, but I don't think I should install over or should I?

Could you give me a direct link to the file? If I download with a PS3 and click the icon to save I get a page full of symbols. Is it safe to download from my infected computer?

I don't have another computer.

No it should not scan offscreen.

Boot back into normal mode. Download this file and save it to your desktop:

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.scr

Double-click the file to run it. A command window will open briefly. Then try the SUPERANtiSpyware scan again (note: do not reboot after running rkill, just go straight to the scan).

The computer restarted on the middle of the scanner, I don't know if the virus did it, should I try safe mode?
