I am seriously at my wits end with this pc. The computer is only 5 months old. I have here an Emachine with windows 7 home premium. I was getting rid of McFee antivirus and I guess a scedualed scan started or uninstalling the McFee triggered the scan. Anyhow Norton which was next to be gone found 2 pornographic sites on my pc. Which no one wants to admit to viewing, but shortly after it removing them i shut the pc down. When I came back to start it up it wanted to stay on the windows start screen. It then went into a system fix. After atempting to fix it would not and wanted to know if i wanted to do a system restore. I went through and let it go back to when it was right again. Well nothing. I then had the option to do an emachine system recovory that wipped the pc from all my data. It actually worked I was back on track I thought. I then shutdown the pc and came back to it later when I got home and it wanted to do the whole thing over again. I have put avg on here, malwearbytes, avast, I am showing nothing on here though. I have a friends that seems to think that when the first scan of the norton occured it removed a part of the root kit. UGHH. I really need this fixed so I can have my pc for my schooling. I have tried to do ALT and F11 at the same time to restore like new and even tried a chkdsk in the command prompt. It will not go through with the chkdsk cause everytime it restarts it gets hung up at the begining and I am not sure what is up with the ALT and F11 not working. It is driving me nuts though. I also did not recive a disk with the pc that is what the Alt F11 is supose to do.

Jenn

"When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix log. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.

To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log."

I did not use a Combofixlog here. I did however explain in detail ehat has happened with my computer. I have tried several different things here and I am just unsure what to do next. Thank you.

Hi Jenn, and welcome to BleepingComputer!

At this point, what happens when you turn on the computer? What makes you think it is infected?

regards, Elise
