I have over 70+ processes' running alot of time. When I hit ctrl alt delete I always notice new processes with names I dont recogonize. I end process tree, but sure enough they come back on during restart or something. I think this is the cause of my laptop becoming more laggy.

I've noticed my model lights blink much more frequently then usual. I dont know what the cause of this is, but when they are blinking rapidly - i cant use my browser until it settles.

If anyone could please help me figure out what I can do to remove all these processes and know why my modem is going crazy,
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Post your HJT log in your other topic..

An admin closed my other topic. And posted the link to this one. Should I post my HJT here?

And I would also like to add that my cd-rom keeps popping out. When I am in the middle of playing my game it just opens up and aborts me out of my game. Very frustrating and shouldnt be happening. Something is going on with my laptop.

Thanks.

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4
Scan saved at 4:22:35 PM, on 7/4/2010
Platform: Windows Vista SP2 (WinNT 6.00.1906)
MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6002.18005)
Boot mode: Normal

End of file - 10675 bytes

(I am getting an error message during the middle of my HJT scan saying: For some reason your system denied access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, Hijackthis may NOT be able to fix this. If that happens, you need to edit the file yourself. To do this, click Start, Run and type:
notepad C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts
and press Enter. Find the line(s) Jijackthis reports and delete them.)

And thanks boop, I really appreciate it.

OK. I 've edited your HJT log onto the other post.

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.

You're Welcome!!!
