Hello! Glad to be a new member of the community. A little about myself:

I've been a high school industrial technology teacher since retiring from the US Navy about 12 years ago. I've taught Intro to PCs, PC Maint/Repair, Networking, and several CAD applications. I've used this site as a source of information for a couple of years or more while helping students and friends with various computer and virus related problems. I hadn't really given a lot of thought to becoming a member until recently. I've had my share of viruses and malware, and considering that I usually have two or more computers available to me and I'm conscientious about backups, it's usually easier to just do a clean installation and start over. The current problem I'm having (apparently a Google redirect virus) caused me to reconsider... Reinstalling the OS and all my applications is a real pain, and for many people it's not a good option. Although I have some experience with computers and networking, I've never really taken the time to learn a lot about finding and removing threats like viruses and spyware. I'm here to learn, and hopefully contribute. Thanks in advance for your support!
