Hi,

Hey guys I just got a like new iBook G4 that at the moment has the original on-board ram and an additional 512MB stick, I was just wondering how much ram is possible in this? I mean it is fast now but not fast enough to watch videos on at the moment and i know it can with a little kick of ram so anyone have any ideas?

12 inch iBook G4 1.07 GHz PowerPC G4 768 MB of ram and a combo drive. Also is there a way to get a new dvd drive in it the one that is there now is un godly SLOW!

Do you mean the 1.0 GHz model? If so, it supports up to 1.25 GB of ram.

The optical drive is difficult to replace but doable.

But if you meant the hard drive, it too is difficult.

Thanks buddy yeah it is the 1 GHz model and the cd drive I'll take a look, now the hard drive has been replaced by me before it really isn't that bad to do only took me about an hour. Actually i was more wondering what dvd drive i could replace the combo drive with. I would like to put something equivalent to a super drive so that i could write dvds and such at high speed.

Here's one. IDK if the write speeds are up to your expectations though.
