Does anyone know if it is possible to password protect individual folders in XP SP-2. I would like to keep snoops out of my folder with financial data, but don't want to be bothered with having to enter passwords for all my other folders in Explorer to access them.

Thanks
Floyd

I know you can do it with a program called Folder Lock. It is a pay program, but I think you get a trial period.

I use it for some folders.

Thanks Albert. I just realized while I was waiting and playing around in Explorer, that I can hide folders too. That should be sufficient in my case too.
Thanks again.

You can still see hidden folders. So if you really want to keep your files protected you should use folder lock or a simlar program. You could also password lock your folder bu putting the files in a zip folder and then put on password lock. (it works on my XP)

You betcha, Floyd! Hiding folders was an option I thought of for you, too, but it doesn't take too much effort to find a hidden folder. So I figured seeing you said it was financial info you may want to actually lock it up!
